3. CALLING ALL PROUD CKDUers!
CKDU will be marching in the Pride Parade this year along with a Dalhousie University contingent. We are supplying the sound system and music to play from the enormous Dal Tigers bus. Please come and join your fellow radio folk on the march. We have CKDU banners to hold and flyers to hand out. Also: fudgesicles to help keep you cool!
We will gather at the marshalling grounds (bottom of Cornwallis Street) starting at noon on Saturday July 24th, and parading from 1pm to 3pm. If you see us along the parade route, please feel free to join in! And don't forget to wear your CKDU t-shirt!

Our very own Youth Now Radio got an Honorable Mention in Current Affairs programming at this year's National Campus and Community Radio Awards. Congrats to Sobaz, Glynn, Marshall, Chris, Rebecca, KC, Lameia, Oren, Kyle, and the rest of the Youth Now team, who produce a great show for our community every week. Tune in to Youth Now! on Mondays at 5:30pm.
6. END OF AN ERA... GOODBYE LATIN CONNECTION!
CKDU has a heavy heart...July 9 was the last Latin Connection. Yoanis Roche and his one-of-a-kind show will be greatly missed! For 9 years, Yoanis played up-beat Latin music and got people ready for the weekend! Thank you Yoanis for all your hard work and dedication and
good luck with your future adventures! Halifax loves the Latin Connection.
7. AND SOME NEW BEGINNINGS...
A warm welcome to new shows at CKDU. A sketch comedy show titled "The Wealthy Bear Radio Hour and a Half" will be on biweekly and starts July 20! Also, put your hands together for "I Really Love You" which, starting on July 27, we be on Tuesdays from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. Jason Johnson will play underground oldies from his extensive 45 collective.
8. CONCERTS.CKDU.CA
Ta da! Thanks to hard work by George Dalli and Catherine Chapman, CKDU's brand new live concert archive is up and running featuring recordings from last year's summer Jazz Fest and the spring Out Like A Lion festival. Check it out here.
Now that it's up and running, we will be adding more content each week. Do you have live recordings? Would you like to do some live recordings? We hope to represent lots of different genres of music, and really give the internet a glimpse of Halifax's amazing local music scene.
