That time is upon us! Funding Drive. It's stressful, but exciting. Tiring, but inspiring. Chaotic, but superfun!
We all know community radio needs funds to survive, and we also know our listeners value what we do and want to support us! Let's raise $26,000 and keep this station humming!
If we all chip in, I know we can do it!

Sign up sheet at CKDU beside the Fill-in Schedule - let's fill them up!
You can also work tables and represent CKDU at the SUB on September 27 and October 5 from 11am-1pm.
We need 2 people to work each shift; selling merch, informing people about Funding Drive, getting donations, etc. If you're interested contact catherine@ckdu.ca

3. PRIZES ARE GREAT INCENTIVES!!
The PRIZE ROOM is ready to go for Funding Drive 2010.
Make sure to have a look at the MASTER PRIZE LIST (found in mcr) and mark which prize(s) you would like to use as incentives during your Funding Drive show.
Large prizes are only given to those who donate $50 or more.
Take a look and pick the ones are going to get the best response during your show!

4. GET PERSONAL WITH PRIZES
You know your friends, family, and listeners best! Feel free to bring in personal prizes to your donors. Cook a dinner, perform a show, knit some mittens, whatever you think your fans would like! Get these prizes ready for your Funding Drive show with the pledge amount that will be attached to it.

New cards are in. Please bring your annual $15 membership fee by the station. You can give this to any staff member and they will get you your new card.

8. IT'S AN HONOUR JUST TO BE NOMINATED...
...but it would be pretty sweet to win, too! CKDU has scored two award nominations for Nova Scotia Music Week awards this year: Best Radio Station, and Best Radio Show: Halifax Is Burning. Congrats to Trevor Murphy of Halifax Is Burning. His hard work really shows in his excellent weekly local music show!
If you are a member of Music Nova Scotia, please vote for CKDU and Halifax Is Burning!

9. SOCAN COMETH...OCTOBER 27, 28, 29 & 30
All programmers with a show airing on October 27 - 30 will have to fill out the paper SOCAN logs! Please be sure to fill out all the info! Be extra-sure to fill out the time of day, composer/author, usage and duration! A sample log will be in MCR!
SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) logs are part of a statistical sampling of music used throughout the country and are used to make an equitable division of SOCAN revenues to writers and publishers of music in Canada and throughout the world. Therefore, it is extremely important for clarity and accuracy in the logs.
For the SOCAN period, be extra sure to reach your Canadian content requirements and play your favorite local/Canadian band! They'll get paid!
To find out composer/author info for the SOCAN log check the album's liner notes. If that does not provide the answer check:
