Hi Radio Friends! A quick but important version of Member News:
1. WE MADE OUR GOAL! And we had fun doing it. Thursday night during Bourbon Jungle, CKDU's friends and listeners took us clean past our goal of $26,000 for this year's funding drive. We are now sitting at $27,500 in pledges, with more rolling in daily. Don't stop the magic! Keep bringing them in if you have them. We will aim to have a mailout by October 25th to get payments for pledges. In the meantime, you can tell your listeners THANK YOU and the prize room will be open on October 13th.
2. Student Union Building CLOSED MONDAY for Thanksgiving. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARDS! Please be advised that staff will not be in on Monday.
3. Tonight! Poetry Show at the Hydrostone Cafe, 7pm, CKDU fundraiser!
4. Tomorrow: DJ Night at Club Soda hosted by Island Switch! CKDU fundraiser!
5. CKDU at NOCTURNE: CKDU has programmed this year's musical performances ON BOARD THE HALIFAX FERRY for this year's Nocturne Festival on October 16th. Can you volunteer some time to help wrangle musicians on October 16th? Erica is looking for volunteers from 6pm to 9pm, and from 9pm-midnight. Please email erica@ckdu.ca if you can help!
6. MOBILE SOUND TEAM at the HPX ZINE FAIR: Saturday October 23, we're looking for djs willing to play tunes for the fine folks attending the Pop Explosion Zine Fair. Let erica@ckdu.ca know if you're interested!
7. NOTICE of GENERAL MEMBERS MEETING: Let's meet to elect our programming committee, meet the new board, etc. October 25th, 7pm! Save the date! There will be PIZZA!
